Ethics statement

Hi, I’m Chase. Let’s clarify what Super Lotus is and isn’t.

Super Lotus is an experimental digital space where I can share things that are important to me, that I find interesting, and that I have found helpful. The purpose for creating this platform was to have a home on the internet where I can share outside of the constraints of existing social media platforms. Like a living room, I’m going to arrange this space with things I find significant and beautiful, and I’d love to have you over.

I am not a coach, teacher, or influencer. Super Lotus is not an “online community” nor does it wish to become an institution or organization.

I’m simply a host. The following are some house guidelines to ensure my guests are not misled. They are all subject to change and feedback.

  • Though I am qualified to give meditation instruction, I am not an empowered lineage holder or certified teacher in any organization. I do not feel that I have special access to wisdom that I can somehow sell to you. I am just some guy who has loved the dharma for a long time, and stumbled (to put it lightly) along the way. Super Lotus operates in the spirit of peer support, not hierarchal posturing. I hope to learn just as much as I share here.

    The various layers of privilege and confusion that have surrounded my life have inevitably created blindspots and shortcomings in my understanding of the dharma. I acknowledge this and I am always open to receive your feedback.

  • There are many programs for recovery where we can find mentorship with people who have years of sobriety under their belts. I am not one of those people. I have struggled with chronic relapses and I am still exploring what qualifies as total sobriety at all. I am here to present my journey in recovery in hopes that some of my experiences may serve your liberation as well as my own. I will make mistakes and I am not pure. I believe that even those of us who still suffer from the conniving grips of addiction in its myriad forms have contagious wisdom we can share with each other when we learn how to trust it and properly express it.

  • I do not have an art school degree or an extensive imdb profile. My laurels are few and humble. I am not book smart. I trust my taste and you may not share it, and that is ok.

    But I have have a deep devotion for the resonance art in all of its forms creates, and I believe art can transmit authentic truths. I’m here to share what moves me, and it’s no more complicated than that.
