The institutions that have so meticulously preserved our spiritual traditions have also caused harm and made access to the path difficult, expensive, and exclusionary. Folk dharma is the contagious wisdom that is transmitted between peers on the path. It respects the functions of institutions but does not concern itself with or depend upon their stamps of approval. It is the air of wisdom we were all born capable of accessing, and which we share with each other all the time.

Samsara is an endless cycle of suffering perpetuated by the ways we cope with pain. This can also be called addiction. When we are hurting, we reach for the most familiar and available medicine, with severe side effects and consequences. All of us—except the Buddhas and the Bodhisattvas—exist on a spectrum between the death of acute addiction and the life of Deep Sobriety. Deep Sobriety is discovered when stigmas and punishment are dissolved and we discover the wisdom in our cravings.

Super Lotus is a multimedia feast for a generation bored with the trappings and problems of institutionalized wisdom. It embraces and rides the absurdity of these times.
